For music buffs one of the central concerns about the Full Moon Party is about the quality of the dance music. Is it any good? Well the good news is that literally dozens of DJs play throughout the night at Cactus Bar, Paradise Bungalows, Zoom Bar, Orchid, Kangaroo Bar, Mellow Mountain, Sunrise Resort, Tommy Club, The Rock as well as the bars in town. And then there is the after parties at such places as Backyard Pub. So there is a serious amount of choice on offer.
Dance aficionados often bemoan the commercialisation of the Full Moon Party and the greater number of DJs playing it safe with RnB, rock and dancefloor fillers. This is a little unfair as there are plenty of DJs at the party who are keen to showcase their own style.
